SUMMARY:Tillamook Anglers Association 37th Annual Fin Clipping Day
DESCRIPTION:The very popular “Fin Clip Day” will be held on Saturday April 25th from 9am to 2pm at the Whiskey Creek Volunteer Fish Hatchery located on Netarts bay. Over 300 people of all ages are expected to volunteer and help celebrate Tillamook Anglers’ 37th year of fin clipping our juvenile Spring Chinook Salmon. This annual event draws participants from all up and down the North Coast and from as far away as Astoria\, Multnomah and Salem. Approximately 110\,000 salmon will have their Adipose fin removed prior to release to the Trask River during this event. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided in the morning with a BBQ lunch at noon that is free for everyone. We can use anyone that shows up and volunteers for this event. Bring your whole family! It is a great experience!

See plants like wild violet\, Solomon’s seal\, fairy bells\, licorice fern\, sorrel\, various fiddleheads\, wild ginger and more. Join educator and author John Kallas to learn the many ways they can be used as food. \nCopies of Wild Edible Plants by John Kallas will be available for sale. \nRegistration is required by Wednesday\, April 22nd. Please call 503-815-6807 to submit payment for registration. Note: The TFC is closed on Monday and Tuesday and therefore won’t be able to take payment on these days.

SUMMARY:Home and Garden Show: Public Safety Fair
DESCRIPTION:When an emergency happens and help is needed\, whether on land or water\, first responders are at the ready. \nIn Tillamook County\, numerous organizations work together to provide a robust and cohesive emergency service network. \nAnd this year\, visitors to the Tillamook Headlight Herald Home and Garden Show on April 25 from 11 am to 3 pm will have the chance to meet some of the valiant and dedicated staff and volunteer first responders. \nOn the grassy area (just east of the skating rink parking lot) at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds\, learn about the services provided by Tillamook Fire District\, Bay City Fire Department\, Life Flight\, Oregon State Fire Marshal\, Tillamook 911\, Tillamook County Sheriff’s Department\, and Tillamook Police. \nIn addition to meet-and-greets\, visitors can interact with demonstrations from the multiple agencies. The demonstrations and interactives are free\, open to the public\, and educational for the whole family. As some activities are weather-dependent\, check back with the Tillamook Headlight Herald website and social medias for updates.
