SUMMARY:Tillamook Main Library Storytime: Preschool
DESCRIPTION:Preschool storytime (PS) on Wed @ 10; developmentally appropriate for 3-5 yos; music\, stories\, interactive play and lots of laughs! In this class little begin to learn about a leader at the front of the room\, how to hold their wiggles\, listening and sitting still. When a child is transitioning from TT to PS my expectation is that they will sit for 5-10 minutes and then they might go play. I do not force them to sit still if they are not ready to. \nA couple of things about the children’s room that might set you at ease: \n\nThere is no expectation that it will be a quiet zone; kids are kids and they are allowed to act like themselves in the children’s room.\nOnly 2 hard and fast rules: No Running & No Screaming.\nIf your child needs a snack\, feed them!

SUMMARY:Grief Workshops with Morgan Motsinger at Tillamook Library
DESCRIPTION:Grief Literacy: Understanding Loss\, Reclaiming Life\nA four-part community workshop series\nGrief is not a problem to be solved or a stage to get through. It’s something we carry\, and with the right understanding\, it can become one of our greatest teachers. This series blends neuroscience\, psychology\, and lived experience to help you understand what grief actually is\, why it affects your brain and body the way it does\, and how to move through it with more compassion\, clarity\, and even joy. \nEach session includes mindfulness practice\, movement\, real conversation\, and tools you can use immediately. Come to one or come to all\, each session stands on its own. \nWeek 1 — What We Get Wrong About Grief \nUnpacking the myths (including the infamous 5 stages) and discovering what grief actually looks like. \nWeek 2 — Grief and the Brain \nWhy grief is so exhausting\, what’s happening neurologically\, and why your brain needs delight just as much as it needs to process. \nWeek 3 — Grief Is Everywhere \nGrief isn’t only about death. Exploring the losses that don’t get named (divorce\, illness\, identity\, relationships) and what they reveal about what we love most. \nWeek 4 — From Knowing to Tending \nGrief in the body\, somatic practices\, an in-the-moment grief toolkit\, and the big question: what does your grief make clear about the life you want to build? \nLed by Morgan Motsinger: TEDx speaker\, mindfulness teacher\, psychology educator\, and bereaved parent.

SUMMARY:Trail Building in Nehalem Bay With LNCT!
DESCRIPTION:Every Friday\, volunteers gather on LNCT lands near Manzanita\, Nehalem and Wheeler to protect and restore habitat in the lower Nehalem watershed. We would love to see new faces out on the land!\n\n\n\nThese work parties are beginner friendly and an opportunity to learn about the engineering of hiking trails. We will be working on uneven ground\, bending\, and moving small rocks and brush during this process. Tools and gloves are provided\, new volunteers welcome and no prior experience needed. Join as frequently as you please.  Email shane@nehalemtrust.org for weekly updates on where to meet.\n\nAlder Creek Farm and Natural Area’s Nehalem Teaching Trail already supports an impressive variety of native plants and simulated ecosystems for community learning—but we’re looking to grow. This short trail will extend educational access into a different ecosystem and connect to the Natural Area’s pollinator meadow. We hope it will also add some variety to habitat access for bird watchers who visit the farm as a part of the Oregon Coast Birding Trail.

SUMMARY:Reflecting on Resilience – Exhibit Opening
DESCRIPTION:For 75 years\, stewardship in the TSF has taken many forms – from the daily labor of rebuilding a burned landscape to welcoming visitors into a living classroom. Through stories\, artifacts\, and never before publicly displayed photos\, this exhibit invites reflection on how forests\, and our relationship to them\, change over time\, and how today’s stewardship will define the forests of the future.

SUMMARY:Turning the Tide in Oregon’s Blue Ecosystems: Seaweeds & Green Crabs
DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of Netarts Bay – WEBS on Wednesday\, March 18th\, 6:30-7:30 for the second webinar presentation in our 2026 “Producers of the Bay” series! \nOregon’s coastal blue ecosystems are dynamic\, productive\, and increasingly shaped by climate change and invasive species. This webinar explores the ecological roles of seaweeds and invasive green crabs\, and how science-informed\, ancestral stewardship and harvesting practices can contribute to ecosystem resilience. Drawing from marine ecology\, the Indigenous 13 Moons seasonal framework\, and Asian coastal food traditions\, the session connects ecosystem literacy with culinary nourishment. \nDr. Siew Sun Wong from OSU’s School of Nutrition and Public Health and Dr. Samuel Chan from OSU’s Department of Fisheries\, Wildlife\, and Conservation Sciences will share their insights into Oregon’s nearshore systems and how thoughtful harvesting and cooking can transform ecological challenges into opportunities for stewardship and sustainability—while also creating meaningful and nourishing meals. \nSeaweed samples will be available at the WEBS office for pick-up to enjoy during the presentation. Details will be sent to all registrants. \nVisit https://www.netartsbaywebs.org/events to learn more and register. \nQuestions or Cancellations?
