DESCRIPTION:Press Release \nFor immediate release  \nJuly 7th\, 2026 \nContact: \ninfo@netartsbaywebs.org\n \nFRIENDS OF NETARTS BAY – WEBS\, HOSTS  \nTHREE TIDEPOOL DISCOVERY DAYS IN THE MONTH OF JULY \n\nJoin us on the beach for some great low tides this July\, perfect for exploring and discovering the amazing creatures lurking at the water’s edge.  Choose one day – or all three – on the beautiful beaches in Oceanside. \n\nThis is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community\, friends\, and family as you enjoy the beauty of Oceanside’s amazing tidepools.  We hope to see you on the beach July 14\, 15th and 16th.. \n\nFriends of Netarts Bay WEBS staff\, Oregon State Park Rangers\, and volunteers will be on-site in the tidepools to share about the habitats along the coastal edge. Learn about the anemone clone wars\, how a sea star eats\, or how hermit crabs find their shelled homes. From seaweeds to sculpin fish\, there is an amazing world to discover!  \n\nDetails: Wear boots or bring a change of shoes.  DO NOT WEAR flip-flops (they are never ideal for exploring tide pools).  Be prepared for Oregon Coast weather. \n\nThis program involves walking on slippery and uneven surfaces\, including rocks that may be covered in water\, seaweed\, and barnacles. We understand everyone learns and experiences the outdoors differently\, and we strive to support everyone who is interested in attending our events! Friday evening\, gather at the Kiawanda Community Center for a community concert featuring Countryfied. The Artisan Fair continues throughout the weekend at the gravel lot on the corner of Pacific Avenue and Brooten Road\, open Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. \nSaturday’s activities begin with the beloved Dory Days Parade at 11 a.m. The procession starts at the Tillamook County boat ramp near Bob Straub State Park\, crosses the bridge\, travels north along Brooten Road\, and concludes at the Oar House Bar & Grill. Visitors can also enjoy the popular Fish Fry featuring fresh\, locally caught dory fish\, explore the Launching Through the Surf exhibit highlighting the history and traditions of Pacific City’s fishing heritage\, and take part in a family-friendly treasure hunt hosted by Pelican Brewing Company. \nOn Sunday\, the Launching Through the Surf exhibit continues\, along with a special storytelling panel where local dory fishermen and community members share firsthand accounts\, memories\, and tales from generations of life on the water. \nFree and open to the public\, Dory Days offers a memorable weekend of coastal heritage\, maritime traditions\, live music\, local art\, family-friendly activities\, and community celebration in the heart of Pacific City. \nFind up-to-date information at www.pacificcitydorydays.com
