SUMMARY:Tillamook Anglers Association 37th Annual Fin Clipping Day
DESCRIPTION:The very popular “Fin Clip Day” will be held on Saturday April 25th from 9am to 2pm at the Whiskey Creek Volunteer Fish Hatchery located on Netarts bay. Over 300 people of all ages are expected to volunteer and help celebrate Tillamook Anglers’ 37th year of fin clipping our juvenile Spring Chinook Salmon. This annual event draws participants from all up and down the North Coast and from as far away as Astoria\, Multnomah and Salem. Approximately 110\,000 salmon will have their Adipose fin removed prior to release to the Trask River during this event. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided in the morning with a BBQ lunch at noon that is free for everyone. We can use anyone that shows up and volunteers for this event. Bring your whole family! It is a great experience!

DESCRIPTION:When an emergency happens and help is needed\, whether on land or water\, first responders are at the ready. \nIn Tillamook County\, numerous organizations work together to provide a robust and cohesive emergency service network. \nAnd this year\, visitors to the Tillamook Headlight Herald Home and Garden Show on April 25 from 11 am to 3 pm will have the chance to meet some of the valiant and dedicated staff and volunteer first responders. \nOn the grassy area (just east of the skating rink parking lot) at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds\, learn about the services provided by Tillamook Fire District\, Bay City Fire Department\, Life Flight\, Oregon State Fire Marshal\, Tillamook 911\, Tillamook County Sheriff’s Department\, and Tillamook Police. \nIn addition to meet-and-greets\, visitors can interact with demonstrations from the multiple agencies. The demonstrations and interactives are free\, open to the public\, and educational for the whole family. As some activities are weather-dependent\, check back with the Tillamook Headlight Herald website and social medias for updates.

DESCRIPTION:The Cannon Beach Chorus presents its Spring 2026 concert\, “I Am America\, the land\, the people\, the struggle to be free”. The concert music was selected in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.\n\nKnown for performing in a wide range of musical styles\, the chorus has chosen music from the Revolutionary War period to contemporary times\, from composers including Aaron Copland\, Stephen Foster\, Garth Brooks as well as traditional folk and patriotic music with lyrics in English\, Spanish and Navajo. The chorus will be joined by guest musicians Kristin Wishon\, Flute\, Piccolo; Tim Berthelsen\, Violin\, Fiddle; Diane Ericson\, Percussion and Allen Barber\, Tenor.\n\n\nThe concert will feature Tillamook pianist\, Blake Poblador\, in a performance of L’Union\, written during the American Civil War by composer and pianist\, Louis Moreau Gottschalk.\n\nThere is no charge to attend. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Earth Month on Sunday\, April 26th with the Friends of Netarts Bay Watershed\, Estuary\, Beach\, and Sea (WEBS) by joining us in a beach cleanup from Cape Lookout State Park to Cape Meares and Bayocean Spit.  \nWinter brings an influx of marine debris\, with storms washing up harmful trash that poses a threat to wildlife and our unique coastal ecosystems. Springtime offers the perfect opportunity to unite as a community and restore our beaches. WEBS has been hosting cleanups for decades with SOLVE\, an environmental non-profit that supports volunteer-led environmental stewardship throughout Oregon. “Clean up the beach with friends or family\, or expand your community by teaming up with fellow volunteers. Volunteers of all ages will find the beach cleanup fun\, educational\, and rewarding\,” shares Marina Dreeben\, WEBS Stewardship Coordinator.  \nWe will meet at 4pm to clean up while the tide is low and wrap up our work as the sun starts setting at 6pm. Thanks to the amazing crew at The Schooner Restaurant and Lounge\, all volunteers will receive a coupon for 10% off dinner on the evening of the cleanup\, so be sure to stick around for a delicious\, locally-sourced meal while you enjoy the sunset after an afternoon of hard work. \nAs you head out to clean up or just explore\, it is important to remember that ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water\, keep your distance from marine mammals\, and never turn your back on the ocean!
