Dan has lived on the North Oregon Coast for over 30 years and is always looking for any excuse to hike the Tillamook Coast’s many trails. He brings years of experience in the local tourism industry to his role as Interim Director of TCVA, and Trails, Outdoor Recreation, and Accessibility. Wandering the outdoors with his wife and black Lab, Edgar, is where you’ll find him when he’s not in the office.

Nicole Steen is the Director of Communications & Marketing at the Tillamook Coast Visitors Association, with over 20 years of experience in strategic communications and public relations. A former Chamber of Commerce director, and graduate of the Oregon Tourism Leadership Academy and Ford Institute Leadership Program, Nicole champions rural communities and responsible tourism. Having grown up with a second home in Cape Meares, Nicole cherishes her family’s deep ties to the Tillamook Coast.

Ashley was raised in the south (Georgia and North Carolina) but has proudly called Oregon home since 2008. A former Social Worker for 10 years, she is looking forward to using her skills of community building, resource connection, and active listening to work with business owners in Tillamook County and develop strong relationships for their continued success. When not working, you can catch her hanging out at local bays and beaches with her husband, her two kids, and her three dogs, where she’s probably talking about native Tillamook County birds to anyone who will listen.

Mariah Surat joined the TCVA team in August 2024. She brings 15 years in hospitality and customer service management. She has lived in Pacific City for 10 years, during which time she has built relationships throughout Tillamook County. She is working on a new hospitality training program, workforce training classes, managing the North Coast Food Trail, overseeing events, and connecting with our local communities. Mariah focuses on Return on Relationships.
