Tillamook County’s Whalen Island County Campground allows you to get close to nature among the Sand Lake Estuary. It contains beautiful waterfront tent sites that can accommodate small RVs/trailers.
There is a boat launch, kayaking, beach access, crabbing, fishing, and some of the best birdwatching on the Tillamook Coast. Whalen Island County Campground shares the island with Clay Myers State Natural Area, and includes miles of trails through a variety of habitats and ecosystems.
