EXPLORE NETARTS BAY

Join the Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS July 17th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM to explore the diverse plants and animals that call Netarts Bay home with guest scientists Dr. Allie Tissot, Kim Brown, and Katalin Plummer. In addition to their ecological expertise, our program leaders also speak Spanish, so we are excited to offer this exploration as a bilingual program!

If you’ve enjoyed WEBS’ Tidepool Tours, you won’t want to miss this. While we’ll be exploring the mudflats of the bay instead of the tidepools, this program will feature a similar blend of expert-led learning and space to follow your own curiosity. We’re excited to nerd out with you!

NOTE: Please arrive 15 minutes early to find parking and check in!

This popular event fills up quickly! If the event is full, please add your name to the waitlist so we can reach out if spots become available. 

What to bring: Be sure to wear shoes that are securely attached to your feet, flip flops will not be allowed. We recommend tall, waterproof boots. The climate can change quickly along the coast, ranging from warm to cool and breezy, so please bring the gear you need to stay comfortable.

Difficulty: Moderate due to the challenges of walking over rocks to reach the bay, and walking on soft, wet sand throughout the program. If bad weather develops, an alternate plan will be communicated to the registered participants.

Parking: There is a small parking lot at our meeting location, as well as pull-offs along Netarts Bay Road for additional parking.

Aunque esta vez exploraremos las llanuras de marea (mudflats) de la bahía en lugar de las pozas de marea, este programa ofrecerá una combinación similar de aprendizaje guiado por expertas y espacio para seguir su propia curiosidad.¡Será un gusto explorar con ustedes!

Dificultad: Moderada, ya que hay que caminar sobre rocas para llegar a la bahía y caminar sobre arena suave y húmeda durante el programa. Si se presenta mal clima, se les comunicará un plan alternativo a las personas inscritas. 

Estacionamiento:Hay un estacionamiento pequeño en el punto de encuentro, así como lugares para estacionarse a lo largo de Netarts Bay Road para espacio adicional.
