The Buzzard Butte Trail Network lies east of Sand Lake, between Cape Kiwanda and Cape Lookout in the USDA Siuslaw National Forest’s Hebo Ranger District. This approximately $2 million project includes nearly 30 miles of trail designed for riders of all experience levels, along with a skills park where mountain bikers can build confidence and prepare for the trails ahead.
Designed with progression in mind, Buzzard Butte allows riders of different abilities to experience the same trails, the same flow and the same sense of accomplishment. Adaptive mountain biking equipment helps make outdoor adventure more accessible and creates opportunities for more people to ride together.
This short film follows adaptive riders Quinn and Joe as they explore the Buzzard Butte Trail Network alongside local trail builders, volunteers and advocates. Their experience highlights what is possible when accessibility is part of the conversation from the very beginning.

Years in the making, the Buzzard Butte Trail Network reflects the power of partnership, persistence and a shared vision for outdoor recreation. Throughout 2024 and 2025, the Tillamook Off-Road Trail Alliance (TORTA) expanded the trail network while securing funding and support from partners including Travel Oregon, Oregon State Parks Recreational Trails Program, Shimano’s Trail Born Fund, Kubota and Tillamook County tourism funds.
The project was developed in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and represents a significant investment in creating high-quality mountain biking opportunities on the Tillamook Coast for riders of all abilities.
