Hiking, Fishing and Camping
Hike into the forest to view waterfalls, or stop along the river for some world-class fishing! Cape Lookout offers a popular campground and day-use area located on sand spit nestled between Netarts Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
Easy Access to the Beach
Here, magnificent views can be enjoyed with easy access to the beach. Beachcombing, whale watching, bird watching, and hiking are very popular at Cape Lookout.
Find Glass Floats
The park is purportedly a good place to find elusive glass floats. More than eight miles of hiking and walking trails wind through old-growth forest. The Cape Lookout trail follows the headland for more than two miles. There is a convenient bench located at the end of the trail for you to relax and enjoy the view!
Spot Whales Spouting
Be sure and bring your binoculars to spot whales spouting and to view other wildlife. The nature trail is a much shorter hike and gives you an up-close-and-personal view of native trees and plants.
More than Three Miles of Beach
The beach runs for more than three miles from the base of Cape Lookout to the end of the Netarts sand spit. Look up and be amazed as hang gliders and Para gliders fill the air. Cape Lookout is part of the Three Capes Scenic Route along with Cape Kiwanda and Cape Meares.
