Tillamook Forest Center
The Tillamook Forest Center is a great place to develop a deeper connection with Oregon’s forests through experience and exploration of its engaging interpretive center. The interpretive center showcases the legacy of the historic Tillamook burn, and the public spirit behind a monumental reforestation effort. It was this spirit that helped to shape the sustainable forest management practices in place today.

The region’s largest forest-based learning center
The Tillamook Forest Center is located in the middle of the Tillamook state forest (50 miles west of Portland) and represents the region’s largest forest-based learning center and outdoor classroom. It hosts a 40 foot tall replica of a forest fire lookout tower and an awe inspiring 250 foot-long pedestrian suspension bridge which leads visitors from the main building across the beautiful Wilson River to the Wilson River hiking trail.

The award-winning Tillamook Forest Center is filled with interactive exhibits about the past, present, and future of the Tillamook State Forest, and is staffed by friendly forest guides. The TFC staff offers curriculum-driven forest educational programs for teachers and students alike, which can be taught on site at the center, or in the school classroom.
